SyuRo Round Tin Containers are meticulously crafted by artisans, one by one. These handcrafted cans have a distinct presence, atmosphere, and charm that sets them apart from machine-made cans.
A lifestyle design store "SyuRo" in Tokyo
Ms. Masuko Unayama of SyuRo designs everyday items with craftsmanship and plans many original products. She founded SyuRo in 1999. The store opened in 2008 in Torigoe, Tokyo, where old small factories still exist.
Japanese craftsmanship and manufacturing process
The artisan who makes SyuRo Round Tin Containers left his company when he was 29 years old, and now he and his wife make them in a small factory on the first floor of their home.
The sheets of tin are cut by machine according to their respective sizes, such as the body and the lid.
Rounding and joining of flat sheet metals
Inserting the inner part of the round can into the body
Adjusting the top and bottom position
A tin can whose aging you can enjoy
Bare tin will change with use as it absorbs oil from the palm of your hand, allowing you to enjoy the "progress" of use. Eventually, it will become an antique. You can enjoy the distinct feel of metal, which is different from paper or plastic materials. Comes with an inner lid that is perfect for storing tea leaves, coffee, and spices.
