Japanese handmade flip-flop style footwear with roots in traditional "zori" style.
"JOJO" is a pair of sandals made by artisans in Kyoto, Japan that retains the function and structure of traditional Japanese footwear while combining materials familiar to us today. The flip-flop shape is said to have originated from traditional footwear known as "zori" in Japan.
With this historical background in mind, Mr. Seiji Naito, the fifth generation owner of Gion Naito, a Japanese footwear specialty store established in 1897, wanted to make beautiful and comfortable flip-flops. The "JOJO" series was born from his passion as a Japanese footwear artisan.
The soft and strong silicone (special rubber) used is the same material as the mouth of a baby bottle, so the thumb and forefinger are less likely to hurt, and the shoes fit your feet comfortably. The outsole uses rubber that is so strong and abrasion resistant that it is also used in tires. And the midsole uses EVA, which has high cushioning properties and does not sag easily, making it resilient, easy on the feet even on asphalt, and comfortable to wear for a long time.
JOJO FROM "LIFESTOCK" is a D&DEPARTMENT special order item born from our "LIFESTOCK" project, which conveys the individuality and craftsmanship of Japanese fabric production areas. Therefore, the number of items that can be manufactured is limited. You can choose this item from two colors and materials.
[Comes in 4 sizes]

[M-size]
Approx. 25.5cm / 10 inches
[L-size]
Approx. 27cm / 10.7 inches
[XL-size]
Approx. 29cm / 11.4 inches
Please choose your size carefully for this item. You can choose the size that best fits your use and style, not the same as your usual shoe size. Please note that we do not accept returns or exchanges.
[For active use, such as walking long distances]
It is recommended that you wear a size that is small enough to allow the heel bone to ride on the back edge. This is the size where the heel sticks out about 2.5 cm (1 inch). It is not a problem if your little toes stick out of the shoe.
[For relaxing use]
We recommend a size where your heel is not too far back so that your foot is firmly on the insole. The heel should stick out within 1 to 1.5 cm (approx. 0.4 to 0.6 inches).
For indoor shoes, it is also a good idea to choose a size that fits snugly, such as a western style shoe, where the heel does not stick out.

Gion Naito
A founder of "Gion Naito" in Kyoto, originally started as a wood and textile business. The founder also created "geta (Japanese sandals)" with the leftover materials. For more than a century, they have been manufacturing high quality Japanese style footwear as one of the most respected footwear manufacturers in Gion, Kyoto City, Japan.
The 5th generation owner, Mr. Seiji Naito, developed a more fashionable collection called "JOJO". He is trying to produce more innovative styles and concepts, but continues to make Japanese style footwear that fits each user and their purpose as a "custom made footwear specialty store" in Kyoto. They continue to make both traditional and more modern shoes that look fabulous, are easy to wear, and can be repaired.

・To clean the insoles, soak them in a stain remover (for collars and sleeves), let them sit for a little while, and then polish them with a scrub brush to remove stains more easily.
・Outsole stains can be cleaned by polishing with a melamine sponge moistened with water.
・A toothbrush is recommended for cleaning small areas such as the front hole parts where the straps go through.
・Stains of "hanao (a clog thong)" should be soaked in a diluted detergent and gently rubbed and washed.
・After washing, wrap it in a bath towel to remove its moisture.
・Dry in an airy, shady place after washing in water.
