This is the original Tenugui towel from D&DEPARTMENT, made with Niimi Corporation, a weaver of traditional Chita cotton in the Chita region of Aichi Prefecture.

The Chita region, one of Japan's three major cotton textile production areas, is where yukata (summer kimonos), tenugui (hand towels), hanten (summer coats) and other traditional Japanese clothing fabrics essential to Japanese life are woven. Slowly woven at low speed on shuttle looms that have been used for centuries, the fabrics are characterized by their fluffy and soft texture. Because of its excellent water absorbency and quick drying properties, it can be used as a substitute for dishcloths, towels and handkerchiefs.
Dimensions: Width 900mm / Height 360mm
