Founded in 1997 by Akira Adachi in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, Canale is a textile planning company. Since then, the company has continued to produce unique and highly original textiles by combining machine and hand work. This cut dobby fabric has a unique texture with irregularities. It is woven on a dobby loom, which weaves regular patterns such as checks, using woollen nylon yarns that expand when heated to create an interesting look. After the woollen nylon yarns are woven by floating, the excess yarns are cut to create a cut dobby fabric. The fabric is then heated to create a unique three-dimensional pattern.
