A field note released in 1959 was developed by reflecting the voice of the field of surveying work, whose needs have increased since the surveying method was enacted. A hard cover is used to make it easier to write outdoors by holding it in one hand and to make it durable. The size is set so that it fits in the pocket of the work clothes of the person in the field. The "d" logo is embossed on the front cover.
